However\, such creators often do not receive fair compensation for their contributions. In recent years\, CopyGhana has undertaken various initiatives\, such as organizing workshops to address this issue\, by educating rights owners on how to protect their works and secure appropriate remuneration. \nWith funding support from IFRRO\, this year’s sensitization efforts by CopyGhana will particularly focus on disseminating a WIPO-funded survey conducted in 2023 to monitor digital uses of text and image-based works in various tertiary institutions in Ghana. The sensitization workshops will also focus mainly on visual arts creators\, who have historically received less of CopyGhana’s attention than text-based creators. This document outlines the proposed activities’ objectives\, timelines\, and anticipated outcomes. \nObjectives\n\nTo educate rightsholders about the importance of collective management and its relevance to their creative sector.\nTo equip rightsholders with practical strategies for promoting and enforcing their copyrights in the digital transformation era.\nTo foster a culture of respect for intellectual property rights within the visual arts community.\n\n  \nMethodology/Approach\nThe event will be a hybrid program with about 50 participants attending in-person and about 50 joining online for each session.  It will feature presentations and interactive sessions designed to engage participants and facilitate learning \n \n  URL:https://copyghana.online/events/sensitization-event-accra/ LOCATION:National Conference Centre – Accra\, Ghana ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://copyghana.online/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/im123.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=UTC:20240813T100000 DTEND;TZID=UTC:20240813T130000 DTSTAMP:20240725T005950 CREATED:20240626T173016Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240722T011524Z UID:988581-1723543200-1723554000@copyghana.online SUMMARY:Sensitization Workshop - Tamale DESCRIPTION:Background\nText and image-based creators significantly contribute to fostering creative innovations and driving economic growth.
